Description

Hard to catch living 52° north with trees blocking the view - but I tried to capture this iconic edge on so called Sombrero galaxy, Messier 104 - took 5 nights of only 2 hours max. exposure opportunity with huge air masses to go through leading to blurred stars and plenty rejected frames, so I ended up with only 4 hours of net exposure time.

M104 is 31 million lightyears away, and only 50.000 lightyears in diameter holding 100 billion stars, but stands out for a perfect edge on perspective - and its outstanding bulge of the galaxy core being contrasted by the surrounding dust lanes of its galaxy arms and structures.
That huge blge relates to it shuge central black hole at the core of the galaxy - apparently 10x the size of Andreomedas and 240x of our Milky ways central black holes. The bulge also carries over 2000 globular clusters
